That one that will show up no matter what is going on; no matter how tired she may be; no matter what obstacles appear to be in the way—Charlene is faithful to her word and her commitments. #STSGlobal is BLESSED to have this woman be a part of our family. Rarely do you meet people these days that jump in first and ask questions later. They see a need and ask what they can do to help make that need dissipate. This is who Charlene is. When she learned of #STSGlobal, she did not hesitate to ask, How do I become an Ambassador? Moreover, What can I do to help and spread the word?

Do you not understand how valuable those characteristics are in a person? How, it sets them apart and endears them, making them that much more special to you? Charlene is a very special woman who lays it all on the line every day for her family and close friends. She is the kind of woman that you desire to be on your team, in your corner, to have as a sister and a friend. We have watched day after day, month after month since becoming an Ambassador how supportive and interactive Charlene is. She is not a woman who just speaks something and does something different. Our celebration of Women’s History Month continues! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s twenty-fifth highlight this month is the effervescent and uncompromising Jacqueline Rowe—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s example of what it means to live the words you speak. #STSGlobal is honored to have met and get to know the awesome woman who has touched and changed many lives.

Jacqueline is the woman behind the scenes as well as out in front, who is doing her part to make a difference in the lives of others; encouraging people to share their truths and face their fears and pain head on. She embodies the spirit of the #STSGlobal mission—to meet people where they’re at…period! Jacqueline helps individuals to move forward and stand up for themselves; taking the steps that they need to get to the life that they were meant to have.

When we meet people, we do not always know their story. We may have heard things, seen things, but rarely do we know the story behind what makes a person who they are. What drives them to fight? What motivates them to take on the tasks that they do? If you have the pleasure of meeting Jacqueline, it will become evident that what drives her to fight; what motivates her, is a heart of love. She carries a spirit of love that is immediately felt when you come in her presence. That desire to help, lift up, motivate people to live their best life is evident after spending time in her presence. When she speaks, she speaks with conviction from a place of experience. You know that she has been through something in her life, but unlike some, has managed to grow from and overcome her experiences.

Celebrating Women’s History Month…Natacha Aurelien!

This March, celebrating Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling will be highlighting the brilliant and beautiful women that help this organization to be what it is. Without their support, love, kindness, and dedication of each of these women, the #STSGLOBAL #hashtag campaign would have never made the strides it has this past year of service. Our twenty-fourth highlight this month is the phenomenal and motivational Natacha Aurelien—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s empowerment motivator and encourager. #STSGlobal has had the pleasure of meeting some very passionate women over the past year, women with a passion for uplifting others and making a difference in not only their own families but also a community of women.

It is not every day that you meet someone, that is transparent—who does not pretend to be something they are not nor claim to be perfect. Yet, they stand behind whom they are and openly share their faith while seeking to build and empower others to do the same. Natacha is that very woman, that woman that is living her life while assuring that her daughters, family members, and other woman and men are reminded to live their lives in spite of any obstacles that may come their way.

Natacha represents and embodies the spirit and mission of #STSGlobal in many ways. She is an example of working consistently towards your personal goals while taking the time to support, uplift, and encourage others. She is that person who will see you falling and not ask if you need help but instead jump right in and help you; catching you before you fall.

#STSGlobal is exposed to many people who have never experienced this kind of commitment, love, or concern. Natacha is a walking testimony and reminder of what the love of Christ looks like in action; creating a legacy that that is anointed of God.

Celebrating Women’s History Month…Sabine Barreau!

Our celebration of Women’s History Month continues! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s twenty-third highlight this month is the incomparable and awe-inspiring Sabine Barreau—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s friend, supporter, and inspiration. #STSGlobal had the profound opportunity and privilege to meet this angel of a woman last year at an event. In the company of many other inspiring and beautiful women, we were struck by the glow that surrounded Sabine and just seems to emanate from her being.

Have you ever been in someone’s presence and felt empowered and encouraged at the same time? That was how we felt in the presence of Sabine. It became evident that this woman was genuine, real, and had a testimony to share. It was all over her. It was not her physical beauty, her make-up, her clothes. It was her spirit; the light of God shining inside of her—bursting with energy and love and power.

In the course of doing the work that we do, we come across many different women and girls from all kinds of backgrounds and walks of life. Their stories are all unique and yet similar at the same time. And the one common thread is that these women and girls have not given up. They are fighting; fighting for life, love, and happiness. No matter what comes their way, they are fighting. Part of #STSGlobal mission is to encourage and inspire and to meet other women that we can connect with who share our mission and are willing to become a part of the #STSGlobal family and share in our mission to inspire, encourage, and change lives one at a time, meeting the people right where they are at.

Sabine is this kind of woman. The kind of woman you want to surround yourself with. Who has been through some fires and challenges in life, but continues to push forward and use her voice and her testimony to bring encouragement, inspiration, and enlightenment to those who may feel their paths are too dark, and cannot distinguish the light.

Sabine is that light that God is using. It has been a pleasure in meeting and connecting with such a beautiful soul. She is a woman making history; creating a legacy her family, children, friends, and strangers can glean faith and hope.

Sabine Barreau—Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Minister, Cancer-Survivor, Champion—is a woman of faith who took life’s challenges and placed them in God’s hands, trusting Him to give her a clear path and direction of how to move forward. Celebrating Women’s History Month…Hayley Gripp!

Our twenty-second highlight this month is the enterprising humanitarian Actress Hayley Gripp—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one supporter, and champion Ambassador. Hayley has also been a supporter and Ambassador for our sister organization, The Stop Bullying Project®. From the moment we met this darling of a soul, there were no false pretenses or conjectures about who she is or how huge a heart she has.

The #STSGlobal relationship with Hayley began with The Stop Bullying Project®. She showed an interest in who we were and what we were doing. Believing in our mission and the work that we are doing, she determined to support us without looking for anything in return. Her selfless support and act of love garnered her our gratefulness and undying gratitude.

When we launched #SurpriseTheStruggling, Hayley was there, also, lending her support and voice to our global mission and cause. Her heart and compassion for others are evident in all that Hayley does. Some people say what they will do and make promises but never follow through. Hayley is a woman of her word and her character above reproach. She has shown nothing but dedication, love, and respect for the work that we are doing in both organizations.

This past February, we were honored to have Hayley as a guest speaker at our inaugural Anniversary celebration. She traveled all the way from California to be with our guests and us. Hayley was warm, gracious, and uplifting, her words touching our hearts and the hearts of our guests.

There are no words to convey accurately what we horde in our hearts for Hayley. She has been one of our greatest champions. Her authentic spirit and humanitarian heart have endeared this beautiful actor to our hearts always.

Hayley Gripp—American Actress, Humanitarian, Businessperson, Holistic Chef, Published Writer—are just a few of her accomplishments and accolades. In 2013, Hayley made her debut in the entertainment industry as a print model; landing national ads for brands such as Verizon Wireless, Murad Skincare, TOF Cosmetics and As Seen On TV.

As an actress, Hayley has shot multiple commercials, has been a celebrity taste tester on Cupcake Wars, landed prominent roles on: CSI: Las Vegas, a reoccurring role on the Lifetime original series Killer Kids, a co-starring role in the Ginger Girls series and a role in the Lionsgate feature film The Vatican Tapes.

As someone who loves to give back, Hayley uses her influence to help others through her humanitarian work and many charitable endeavors. She played a prominent role in getting the anti-bullying law The IDEA Act and The CARE Bill passed and has spoken to 90k on the bullying epidemic. In 2017 Gripp will be launching her holistic lifestyle blog, publishing her first children’s book and is set to film two feature films. Currently, Hayley splits her time between Los Angeles, CA and New York City, NY.

We’re continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s twenty-first highlight this month is the inspirational and selfless Advocate Theresa Vivian Moila—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one supporter, promoter, and our South African Chief Ambassador. Theresa has jumped in wholly to support and promote the work of not only #STSGlobal but also as an Ambassador for our sister organization, The Stop Bullying Project®. Theresa embodies the spirit of the mission of both organizations and continues to promote and share our mission and work with many others, near and far.

It is at times difficult to convey accurately with words what you hold in your heart for someone. The words do not always justify the depths of love and gratitude that you feel in your heart towards someone who means so much to you. That is how #STSGlobal feels towards Theresa. There are not enough words to justly describe how profoundly grateful we are to have Theresa as part of the #SurpriseTheStruggling family.

From the beginning, Theresa has been an invaluable part of #STSGlobal. She has gone out of her way to represent our mission in such a way that it has brought together like-minded people to share in our mission and to help aid us in reaching our goals of helping others. Because of her selflessness and continued support, we are able to do what we do and help not only surprise many homeless women and teen girls, but also those who may be struggling, and to bring awareness, as well to those who have suffered from bullying in any shape or form.

Theresa is an asset to our organization, and we are forever grateful that she chose us to lend her support, love, and dedication. We are and are able to do what we do because of beautiful souls like Theresa.

We are continuing to celebrate Women’s History Month! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s twentieth highlight this month is the phenomenal and incomparable Dawana Smith—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one supporter and valuable member of the team. Dawana is instrumental is promoting #STSGlobal’s mission and procuring opportunities to bring awareness and generate funds for our organization.

As one of our first team members, Dawana took the initiative to expand our “Sip & Drop/Purses & Pearls” Fundraisers by hosting an event in North Carolina. Due to its success, Ambassadors from other states outside the tristate area began hosting events, as well, increasing our global reach and expanding our number of Ambassadors.

Dawana is a team player who has shown her dedication and love to the mission of #SurpriseTheStruggling and continues to assist our Director and staff in any capacity needed. Her devotion, determination, drive, and representation of #STSGlobal has made her an indispensable and invaluable part of the team. We are grateful and humbled to work with Dawana.

Dawana Smith—Mother, Sister, Friend, Team Captain, Ambassador, Supporter—is a devoted part of the #SurpriseTheStruggling family. In addition to the work that she does for #STSGlobal, Dawana works full time and supports various other organizations, while raising a family. Dawana is creating a legacy that her family can be proud of.

We’re continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s nineteenth highlight this month is the visionary and our forever Queen Boss Lucinda Cross-Otiti—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s number one Chief Activating Officer holds a very special place in the hearts of the #STSGlobal family. After some intimate time with Lucinda and some other very special women, the vision for #SurpriseTheStruggling was activated.

There are times in your life when you have a dream and a vision but you may not know what to do next. What steps you should take to make the visions of your heart manifest. When you are ready, God will send in someone(s) to get you to the next level and introduce you to a completely new way of thinking and seeing things. Some are switch activators. You have the dream and vision in you but you need someone to switch the power on, allowing your light to come forth. Our dear Lucinda was that switch activator. That person that God used to help get the power going for #STSGlobal.

We show much gratitude towards Lucinda today, and honor her for her love, continued support, encouragement, and words of wisdom for our organization. Lucinda most certainly embodies the spirit and mission of #STSGlobal. It is an honor to celebrate and acknowledge this phenomenal woman on her Birthday! From the very first time we met Tiffany, it was evident that she possessed a heart filled with compassion and understanding, and a desire to make a change in the lives of others.

There are many times we meet people who will say one thing but mean something else. That is not the case with Tiffany. Her character is above reproach, and that is the kind of person that you want to be connected to. Tiffany embodies the spirit and mission of #STSGlobal. Her desire to make a difference, and to give, children especially, another chance to make their mark in this world is admirable.

We owe a profound debt of gratitude to Shawn for taking us under her wing and offering her wisdom and direction when we decided to take our vision and make it official. She mentored us through the entire process of bringing our vision to fruition; making the entire process of becoming an official nonprofit 501 c 3 organization much easier. She understood the mission of #STSGlobal and determined that she could help us take our vision further.

When you are starting out, Shawn is the person that you want on your side. Her selflessness and determination to help others attain the goals they have set for themselves and others are what set Shawn apart from so many others. Shawn’s dedication to her clients and passion for what she does inspires us to do all that we can to give back and to pay all the kindness and love she has shown us, forward.
