#Surprisethestruggling

Our celebration of Women’s History Month continues. #SurpriseTheStruggling’s sixteenth highlight this month is the inspiring and selfless Theresa Marie Beyer—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one, selfless and inspirational Ambassador from Pennsylvania. There are no words to adequately express the gratitude and love in our hearts for Theresa and her family. Not only did Theresa show her support and dedication to the #STSGlobal mission, but she also got her beautiful family involved.

From the beginning, Theresa reached out towards #STS to find out how she could be of service. She did not wait to sign up, she just jumped right in and asked where to send what we needed and what else she could do to be a part of #SurpriseTheStruggling.

Theresa’s dedication and selflessness have been such an inspiration to our organization. Her love and compassion for the women and teen girls that we seek to aid have been astounding, and humbling. She truly embodies the spirit of our mission and is a wonderful example of love in action.

Theresa M. Beyer, Author of Live Your Life

We absolutely cannot say enough about how her support, the support of her family, and her service as an Ambassador has inspired, encouraged, and filled our hearts with more gratitude and love. Theresa is the kind of Ambassador whose character is evident in all that she does. You can look at her family and her friends—those that surround her—to know just how awesome a woman she is, and how big of a heart she has. We are grateful to know this beautiful, selfless, awesome woman—who is creating a profound legacy that we are certain her children can and will be proud of.

Making further poor decisions as a young adult, Theresa also speaks about contemplating suicide. Live Your Life is an honest and intense portrait of a strong and determined young woman who attempts to make sense out of the life handed to her.

LaTonya embodies the heart and soul of #STSGlobal mission. She has inspired us with her support, love, and commitment to making a positive change.

There are times in life when you meet or learn about someone and because of it, your life will never be the same because you have learned and gained something special from their story. You know that you will not see the world the same way or be able to do things the same but instead, you are inspired to do more. That is exactly what LaTonya brings to the #STS organization. You cannot hear her story, see her commitment, and not be affected to do something.

LaTonya Smiley, CEO, and Founder of Eve’s Roses

We are grateful to LaTonya for walking in her greatness. Because she has boldly gone forth and has shared herself, it inspires and encourages us to continue to do the same. It encourages us to see deeper and to look closer at the women and teen girls that we seek to surprise each day. We all have a story, but many of us are afraid to share it. The When I Grow up Project is a motivational documentary that focuses on inspiring and encouraging children to follow their dreams despite the obstacles they may face. The vision was to expose role models in the community for children to become inspired. The group of twenty students and ShonTe went around Plainfield asking community members and professionals to describe their occupations and their motivation. All interactions were recorded and became the foundation for the film. Throughout the summer, the film aired on Plainfield Television Network.

After two years of researching and networking, ShonTe realized this project could encourage children around the world and become a motivational movement. This thought gave birth to the Follow your Dreams Tour. This global journey has ShonTe traveling to different countries to enhance the short film to a complete documentary by gaining a global perspective, interviewing international volunteers, and understanding how the environment affects opportunities.  To learn more about this project, watch the video on YouTube- https://youtu.be/L2tAm7suYk4 or
