Continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling’s twenty-sixth highlight this month is the inspirational and loyal-to-a-fault Charlene Stewart—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s example of loyalty and dedication; our tried and true New York Ambassador. That one that will show up no matter what is going on; no matter how tired she may be; no matter what obstacles appear to be in the way—Charlene is faithful to her word and her commitments. #STSGlobal is BLESSED to have this woman be a part of our family. To be able to call her Ambassador, friend, sister, is an honor.

Rarely do you meet people these days that jump in first and ask questions later. They see a need and ask what they can do to help make that need dissipate. This is who Charlene is. When she learned of #STSGlobal, she did not hesitate to ask, How do I become an Ambassador? Moreover, What can I do to help and spread the word?

Celebrating Women’s History Month…Hayley Gripp!

This March, celebrating Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling will be highlighting the brilliant and beautiful women that help this organization to be what it is. Without their support, love, kindness, and dedication of each of these women, the #STSGLOBAL #hashtag campaign would have never made the strides it has this past year of service. These women bring their “A” game to all that they do! Be sure to follow their pages and get to know these powerful, brilliant, and beautiful women.

Our twenty-second highlight this month is the enterprising humanitarian Actress Hayley Gripp—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one supporter, and champion Ambassador. Hayley has also been a supporter and Ambassador for our sister organization, The Stop Bullying Project®. From the moment we met this darling of a soul, there were no false pretenses or conjectures about who she is or how huge a heart she has.

The #STSGlobal relationship with Hayley began with The Stop Bullying Project®. She showed an interest in who we were and what we were doing. Believing in our mission and the work that we are doing, she determined to support us without looking for anything in return. Her selfless support and act of love garnered her our gratefulness and undying gratitude.

When we launched #SurpriseTheStruggling, Hayley was there, also, lending her support and voice to our global mission and cause. Her heart and compassion for others are evident in all that Hayley does. Some people say what they will do and make promises but never follow through. Hayley is a woman of her word and her character above reproach. She has shown nothing but dedication, love, and respect for the work that we are doing in both organizations.

This past February, we were honored to have Hayley as a guest speaker at our inaugural Anniversary celebration. She traveled all the way from California to be with our guests and us. Hayley was warm, gracious, and uplifting, her words touching our hearts and the hearts of our guests.

There are no words to convey accurately what we horde in our hearts for Hayley. She has been one of our greatest champions. Her authentic spirit and humanitarian heart have endeared this beautiful actor to our hearts always.

Hayley Gripp—American Actress, Humanitarian, Businessperson, Holistic Chef, Published Writer—are just a few of her accomplishments and accolades. In 2013, Hayley made her debut in the entertainment industry as a print model; landing national ads for brands such as Verizon Wireless, Murad Skincare, TOF Cosmetics and As Seen On TV.

As an actress, Hayley has shot multiple commercials, has been a celebrity taste tester on Cupcake Wars, landed prominent roles on: CSI: Las Vegas, a reoccurring role on the Lifetime original series Killer Kids, a co-starring role in the Ginger Girls series and a role in the Lionsgate feature film The Vatican Tapes.

As someone who loves to give back, Hayley uses her influence to help others through her humanitarian work and many charitable endeavors. She played a prominent role in getting the anti-bullying law The IDEA Act and The CARE Bill passed and has spoken to 90k on the bullying epidemic. In 2017 Gripp will be launching her holistic lifestyle blog, publishing her first children’s book and is set to film two feature films. Currently, Hayley splits her time between Los Angeles, CA and New York City, NY.

We’re continuing our celebration of  Women’s History Month! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s nineteenth highlight this month is the visionary and our forever Queen Boss Lucinda Cross-Otiti—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s number one Chief Activating Officer holds a very special place in the hearts of the #STSGlobal family. After some intimate time with Lucinda and some other very special women, the vision for #SurpriseTheStruggling was activated.

There are times in your life when you have a dream and a vision but you may not know what to do next. What steps you should take to make the visions of your heart manifest. When you are ready, God will send in someone(s) to get you to the next level and introduce you to a completely new way of thinking and seeing things. Some are switch activators. You have the dream and vision in you but you need someone to switch the power on, allowing your light to come forth. Our dear Lucinda was that switch activator. That person that God used to help get the power going for #STSGlobal.

Celebrating Women’s History Month…Naté Jones!

Continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling’s our tenth highlight this month is the vivacious and effervescent Naté Jones (Pronounced Na-tay)—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s day one supporter and champion, New York Ambassador. Naté has made herself an invaluable part of #STSGlobal. Her compassion, dedication, and commitment have made her shine like a diamond and the star that she is. From the very beginning, Naté has taken on the mission of #STS and has been responsible for launching our first Purses & Pumps, Sip and Drop & Pamper Party.

Naté has introduced us to many others who have the same commitment and drive as #SurpriseTheStruggling—who share in our mission to helping homeless women and teen girls, also those wishing to empower women. This dynamo of a woman has endeared herself to our hearts, becoming and Ambassador and a board member. Though we have not seen her for a couple of months, we have felt the continued work and support that she continues to give to our organization.

Continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling’s ninth highlight this month is an entrepreneur and sweet treat maven, Patricia Sykes—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s inspirational and day one supporter, Ambassador from New York. Patricia encompasses the heart of #STSGlobal mission. Our front-line Ambassador—Patricia is taking it to the streets to meet the people where they are. Our celebration ofWomen’s History Month continues! #SurpriseTheStruggling’s seventh highlight this month is the selfless jewel, Linda Saar-rah Sumpter—#SurpriseTheStruggling’s Diamond Ambassador from Philadelphia, PA. Are there any words to describe this jewel? To be able to summarize what she stands for and means to #STSGLOBAL? We do not think so but we are going to try our best. From the beginning, Ms. Linda has been true to her word and an invaluable supporter and Ambassador to our organization. She has selflessly given of her time and love to support, promote, and represent #SupriseTheStruggling and our mission. She, herself and her organization, has been a surprise to #STS. Countless times, we have retrieved the mail, and there was a package filled with beautiful purses and toiletries to aid us in our mission.

Ms. Linda has filled our hearts with courage, inspiration, and strength. She has been a mentor, a friend, a sister, a mother, a go-to for information. She is a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that cannot be obtained through books but only through life experiences, and she shares this with us every day. It is truly beyond our words to express the esteem in which we hold Ms. Linda. We are not only grateful for the day that our paths crossed, but honored and blessed to be in the presence of such greatness—a woman who is leaving an indelible mark on this world; creating a legacy worthy of generations to come. Celebrating Women’s History Month…Wanda Edwards!

Continuing our celebration of Women’s History Month, #SurpriseTheStruggling’s fifth highlight this month is the courageous and triumphant Wanda Edwards—#STSGlobal’s Chief Ambassador. We do not believe there are enough words in our vernacular to accurately describe the love and gratitude we have and hold in our hearts for our dear sister Wanda and her dedication and support to the mission of #SupriseTheStruggling; Especially when she has so many things in her life that she is responsible for and working towards. We are humbled by her dedication and love and extend our gratitude to Wanda for choosing to be a part of #STS. That, she would find the time to work with us, plan and execute more than one Sip & Drop and then accompany us as we hit the streets of the tristate area to bless women and even men—with the surprise bags of toiletries, as well as food and water. She is simply amazing and a shining example of what love and service look like in the flesh. She is a true champion for the people, especially those who have gone through some horrific circumstances in their lives and may feel as though there is no way out. Wanda is that hope. That voice that God is using to say otherwise. Wanda deserves her place as a woman in history and a woman of honor and integrity.

Wanda Edwards—Mother, survivor, motivational speaker, documentarian, minister, humanitarian, champion, and advocate. There is so much more to Wanda than meets the eye. A woman with firsthand knowledge of what it means to survive and not only fight to get your life back, but to thrive while doing it. Wanda is the founder of “A Walk in Her Shoes—Empowering women to stand up and talk about their experiences and bring healing and hope to one another, as well as educate on the many different levels and nuances of domestic violence and what to do. Our dear sister has been a shining example of sisterhood and bringing a great service and dedication to #SupriseTheStruggling in so many different ways. We do not believe that there are enough words to adequately express just how honored we are to have Lisa be a part of #STS. Whenever called on to assist or to be a part of an event—if available, she is there, and if she cannot physically be present, she is sending support in various other ways. Because of her love, dedication, drive, and willingness to go above and beyond, we recognize Lisa Sumpter this Women’s History Month, as a woman who is making a change in her community, her city, her state, globally, and most importantly, in the lives of her family and friends, and women and ten girls she may never lay eyes on.

Working alongside her sister, Lisa is the co-founder of Sister Prison Wives, Best Friends & Families (SPWBFF), a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Community Organization Supporting Children & Families of the Incarcerated. www.spw-bff.org. SPWBFF’s mission is to provide and promote education and awareness of the impact of incarceration on children and families. SPWBFF is a movement to identify and support the needs of affected children and families and assist returning citizens with re-entry into society. In addition to the wonderful work that Lisa does with SPWBFF, Lisa has a degree in Communications and a Masters in Education. She is also a PA Mobile Notary Public, PA Licensed Real Estate Agent and part a family travel agency—Robinson’s Travel.
